BLAIS J.
[1] This is an appeal by the appellant pursuant to subsection 14(5) of the Citizenship Act of the decision of Elizabeth Willcock, Citizenship Judge, rendered and communicated to the appellant by way of a letter dated October 1, 1997.
[2] The appellant was denied citizenship because the appellant had failed to meet the residency requirements of paragraph 5(1)(c) of the Act.
[3] The appellant appeared before the Court and has demonstrated that even though at the time the application was filed, he was absent for business purposes in other countries, he is now employed by the Province of Nova Scotia since 1997 and over the last year, he has travelled out of the country for only one week.
[4] His wife and children are living in Nova Scotia with him and are Canadian citizens.
[5] The applicant has sufficient ties to Canada to show that he has centralized his mode of living in Canada.
[6] Him employment at the time of his application necessitated long absences from Canada.
[7] For the above reasons, the appeal is granted.
