Date: 19991209
Docket: IMM-775-99
BETWEEN:
NATARAJAN RAVI RAJ
Applicant
- and -
THE MINISTER OF CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION
Respondent
REASONS FOR JUDGMENT
(Delivered from the Bench at Toronto, Ontario,
on Thursday, December 9, 1999)
McGILLIS J.
[1] Despite the able argument of counsel for the applicant, I have not been persuaded that the visa officer erred in assessing the applicant in his intended occupation of Advertising and Marketing Consultant, National Occupational Classification Code 1122.2, or in the occupation of Sales and Marketing Manager, National Occupational Code 0611.1. In my opinion, the decision of the visa officer is amply supported by the evidence in the record. In the circumstances, her decision is reasonable and my intervention in this matter is not warranted.
[2] The application for judicial review is dismissed. Counsel for the applicant requested to have an opportunity to make written submissions on the question of whether the case raises a serious question of general importance. Counsel for the applicant shall serve and file his written submissions by no later than 3 p.m. today. Counsel for the respondent shall serve and file her written submissions by no later than 5 p.m. today.
